ABOUT ME
Last year I was in the thick of working my way up to my first marathon. I had gotten as far as completing a 10K and was working on training for my half when my hubby and I decided that three sounded better than two. I ran up until about month five of pregnancy, when it was just too painful and uncomfortable for me to do so. I stopped running and switched to low-impact workouts.
Princess was born in June of 2011 and we are so in love with her. I had full intentions of jumping right back into my training schedule (with some back-tracking, of course) once I cleared my 6-week postpartum check up with the doctor. I was excited that because I chose to be a stay-at-home mom I thought I'd have "time" to train whenever I wanted. Turns out, babies don't like running. I got a spiffy jogging stroller but Princess was ultra freaked by the traffic we would encounter. I was getting pretty bummed that I wouldn't be able to run the half marathon I had planned in March but was okay with the fact that it was all part of sacrifices made for Princess' behalf.
<Insert sweet husband>
Christmas morning he surprised me with a treadmill so that I could do my short runs at home during nap time and do my long runs on Sundays when he could hang with Princess. It was such a thoughtful gift and I'm so glad that I will be able to take care of myself again! Running was such as stress reliever for me and it makes me feel really good.
This blog was invented to help me track my progress, keep me accountable, and hopefully inspire mommas who may stumble across it that working out with a baby is possible!
ABOUT PRINCESS
(Also known as "Princepessa")
A currently six-month-old ball of cute and spunk. Princess always keeps me on my toes and challenges me to be my best. If she's not napping during momma's treadmill time, she's burnin' the calories in her Jumperoo. She's a Jumperoo pro and jumps so hard I swear she's going to topple the thing over. She's just strengthening those legs so we can run races together when she's older. :)
I love her and all her craziness and couldn't imagine life without her!
